Tours & Open Houses

San Francisco Friends School offers a variety of opportunities for you to learn about our mission and programs. We recommend that you take a Tour and attend one of our Open Houses in order to help you in your selection process.

We ask that children entering our Kindergarten program in the fall of 2020 are 5 years old by August 1, 2020. Due to the large number of families with children eligible for Kindergarten admission for the fall of 2020, we are unable to accommodate parents of children who would be too young for our program next fall on our school tours. We very much appreciate your understanding and cooperation and look forward to meeting you in the future.

Our school is fully enrolled for the 2019–2020 school year. Dates of our fall events will be posted after Labor Day.

Open Houses

Open Houses are held on evenings at Friends for prospective parents and guardians (no children, please.) These events provide a deeper look into our philosophy, programs, and over-all school life. The focus will be on the teaching of math, science, reading and writing. Our Director of Community Engagement and our middle school students will share information about our students' stewardship projects. You will hear from teachers, students and administrators, including our Head of School, and have a chance to meet some of our current parents.

Lower and Middle School Tours

We welcome you to walk through our building and to observe our classes in session. Tours are led by current parents and visit many of the K-8 classrooms, including specialist classes such as art and Spanish. You will learn about our academic program from our Division Heads and Academic Dean and the way in which Quaker values are incorporated into the daily lives of the students. Our middle school students and Head of School also give presentations.

Evening for LGBT families

Meet some of our school's LGBT parents in a casual, informal setting and learn about their and their children's experiences at SFFS. Adults only, please. This evening event will be held at a parent's home.
