Lower School Art Teacher

We are seeking a passionate and creative Lower School Art Teacher to inspire students in grades K-4 through hands-on learning, innovation, and artistic expression. The ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of a wide range of perspectives, art forms, ideas and techniques used by a variety of cultures. They should demonstrate a commitment to fostering curiosity, collaboration, and resilience in a diverse learning community. The position calls for someone who is not only skilled in understanding art and art education but is also deeply student-centered, flexible, and enthusiastic about engaging lower schoolers in meaningful, creative work. Candidates should have a strong art background across various media and demonstrate curiosity to continue growing their practice. Upper Elementary School Teacher

We are seeking an experienced Upper Elementary Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of upper elementary development and demonstrates a commitment to fostering curiosity, independence, collaboration, and critical thinking in a diverse learning community. Candidates should have a strong pedagogical background and be invested in collaborating with colleagues and working with upper elementary-aged students. Lower School (K-4) Associate Teacher 

We are seeking a Lower School Associate Teacher for the 2026-27 school year. This role works together with lead classroom teachers and our specialist teachers to meet a wide range of academic and social developmental needs of students in grades K-4. For those newer to teaching, our approach provides a hands-on opportunity to collaborate with experienced mentor teachers on all aspects of classroom life and gain valuable professional development in a supportive setting. In turn, the Associate Teacher/mentor pairing allows SFFS to provide a collaborative team teaching approach that allows for low student-teacher ratio, small-group instruction, and individualized attention. Middle School Spanish Teacher 

We are seeking a passionate and creative Spanish language teacher to join our middle school Spanish department and teach two sections of mainstream Spanish and combined 5th/6th and 7th/8th grade classes for our HABLA (Heritage and Bilingual Language Arts) Español program. Our HABLA program is designed to serve heritage Spanish-speaking students and students who have achieved advanced proficiency in Spanish through a dual-immersion bilingual elementary program, or equivalent learning environment. The ideal candidate brings a love of the Spanish language, an in-depth understanding of the principles of Spanish language acquisition, an appreciation for the cultures of Spanish-speaking communities, and a commitment to serving and preserving the linguistic and cultural identities of heritage Spanish-speaking students. Interim Middle School Art Teacher

We are seeking a passionate and creative interim Middle School Art Teacher to inspire students in grades 5–8 through hands-on learning, innovation, and artistic expression. The ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of a wide range of perspectives, art forms, ideas, and techniques used by a variety of cultures. They should demonstrate a commitment to fostering curiosity, collaboration, and resilience in a diverse learning community. Candidates should have a strong art education background in a variety of media and be willing to expand their knowledge.  Teachers engage in regular collaboration, curriculum development, and pedagogical reflection with their peers and collaborate with colleagues across subjects to support interdisciplinary projects. Substitute Teacher

We seek experienced educators compelled by the Friends School mission, which includes an exemplary education supported by a community dedicated to peaceful problem solving, service to others, simplicity, respect for the individual, and silent reflection. Substitute Teachers will serve students in all grades K through 8.
