Early Elementary Teacher

We are seeking an early elementary teacher for the 2025-26 school year who compelled by the school's mission and committed to progressive, integrated early childhood education. Ideal candidates will demonstrate knowledge of and experience in hands-on and integrated learning, as well as early childhood development and literacy skills; be highly motivated, hard-working, collaborative, and flexible; demonstrate a desire to learn; show initiative; and have a sense of humor. Candidates should have a strong pedagogical background and be invested in collaborating with colleagues and working closely with early elementary-aged students.  Click here to learn more and apply. 

Interim Middle School Science Teacher

We are seeking a Middle School Science teacher who is compelled by the school’s mission and committed to progressive, integrated Science education. This is a one-year position. Candidates can apply for the full-time faculty position when it is posted in Fall 2025.  Science at Friends is an inquiry-based, conceptual program where students grapple with problems and make meaning for themselves. Middle School Humanities Teacher

We are seeking an experienced Middle School Humanities teacher who is compelled by San Francisco Friends School’s mission and committed to progressive, integrated Humanities education. This position will start for the 2025-26 school year. Humanities at Friends is an inquiry-based, conceptual program where students grapple with problems and make meaning for themselves. We strive to build students' capacity to think critically and express themselves in dialogue and writing. Teachers are engaged in regular collaboration, curriculum development, and pedagogical reflection. Candidates should have a strong understanding of history and literature and be invested in collaborating with colleagues and working closely with students. Substitute Teacher

We seek experienced educators compelled by the Friends School mission, which includes an exemplary education supported by a community dedicated to peaceful problem solving, service to others, simplicity, respect for the individual, and silent reflection. Substitute Teachers will serve students in all grades K through 8. Substitute Teachers will be asked to teach or support in various grades and subjects where needed.
