horizons at sffs

Horizons at San Francisco Friends School provides joyful academic and enrichment experiences that build on the strength and talents of students in San Francisco's public schools.

Horizons operates under the 501(c)(3) of SFFS, where SFFS acts as the fiscal sponsor. Horizons does not receive any direct financial support from SFFS and fundraises independently of the school, but does receive in-kind use of the school building and other support. Our communities are closely entwined, with many SFFS parents, staff, and alumni joining the Horizons Board and working or volunteering with the program in the summer and year-round. Our partnership highlights SFFS’ Quaker values in action.

Horizons and San Francisco Friends School launched their partnership in 2014, envisioning educational equity facilitated by community relationships that foster students' confidence, curiosity, and capacity to thrive in school and beyond. Horizons has added a new cohort of students each year, and has grown to serve 150 K-8 students who return summer after summer.

Horizons plans to continue supporting their oldest students throughout their high school journeys with a continuity of year-round programming. To learn more about Horizons at SFFS, watch a summer in action below and visit their official website
