Diali Bose-Roy joined the SFFS team after completing her Masters in Education Leadership at Columbia; she was happy to come back home to the west coast.  The daughter of a nuclear engineer and a civil engineer Diali grew up just outside of Los Angeles. Her extended family hails from Kolkata, India, and her family speaks Bengali at home. Diali and her older brother both attended public schools, and Diali went on to study Biology at Scripps College, where she was drawn first to medicine, and eventually to documentary filmmaking. Upon graduation, Diali worked for several years in television production and post-production until deciding to begin her journey as an educator, first running an after-school enrichment program in southern California and then enrolling at Boston’s Lesley College elementary education graduate program. Soon after, Diali landed a full-time fifth grade teaching position at the Charles River School. When Diali is not studying or teaching, she is underwater - literally! Her vacation plans are all about scuba-diving and reefs - wreck diving in the Caribbean, swimming in the lava tubes of Hawaii, exploring the diversecreatures of the Great Barrier Reef, and shark diving in Belize.
